Johannes Heesters Live in the Circus – An Exceptional PR Coup
In May 2004, Mayr Nell developed an extraordinary PR idea: to engage the then 100-year-old Johannes Heesters, after his appearance on "Wetten, dass..?", for the Great Russian State Circus Munich – as a special act in a unique live production.
Together with magician Hans Klok and clown legend Oleg Popov, this became a unique cultural moment: Heesters fulfilled his personal lifelong dream of performing in the circus once more and being part of a major international show.
Mayr Nell was responsible for all communication surrounding this extraordinary project – including an exclusive press conference at the legendary Kay’s Bistro and targeted nationwide media relations in the run-up to the show.
Result
Nationwide coverage and high public attention made the performance one of the most extraordinary entertainment PR moments of its time.
